Health

What do we mean by health and "healthy housing"?
"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." (Definition of WHO, 22nd July 1946)
Following this definition, health according to Sentinel-Haus is not just the absence of illness, but rather the possibility for everyone to co-decide about their physical well-being.
Since modern men stay indoors 80 to 90 percent of their time, the quality of their living and working environment is crucial to their well-being and health.
Illness and headaches created by solvents. Watery eyes, irritated mucous membranes and risk of cancer caused by formaldehydes. Unusable school buildings, kindergartens and private houses because of smell and high pollution: Pollutants from building materials and auxiliary materials for their processing are the culprits of a significant health hazard and a possible limitation in usage.
On the one hand, healthy housing means that the indoor air in a building fulfils the scientifically recognised criteria for a multitude of groups of pollutants and single pollutants.
On the other hand, healthy housing also means noise and heat protection, sufficient lighting conditions, low CO2 concentration and last but not least the aesthetics of the living space.
To guarantee healthy housing Sentinel-Haus developed a concept.
The same is structured either in:
- Sentinel-Haus Basic Protection for people who are healthy and want to stay healthy or
- Sentinel-Haus Premium Protection for demanding residents with special sensitivity
The Basic Protection as well as the Premium Protection can be certified with our certificate Health Passport.
